Tracking down Blaidd during Ranni's storyline can be confusing, especially when players expect to meet the half-wolf warrior directly inside Nokron. Many adventurers enter the Eternal City searching for their ally, only to find he is nowhere to be seen in the underground ruins. Understanding how Blaidd's quest interacts with Nokron's entry requirements helps you progress Ranni's narrative without getting stuck.

Why You Cannot Find Blaidd inside Nokron

While Blaidd originally expresses a strong desire to explore Nokron alongside you, events prevent him from entering the city directly. Before Nokron opens, Blaidd stands in Siofra River attempting to discover a pathway into the hidden realm. After you defeat Starscourge Radahn and unleash the falling star, Blaidd gets trapped in the Forlorn Hound Evergaol by War Counselor Iji.

Iji imprisons Blaidd out of fear that the warrior's dark destiny will bring harm to Ranni's ultimate goal. Because of this imprisonment, Blaidd never actually steps foot into Nokron, leaving you to explore the fallen city alone. Players who search the rooftops and alleyways of Nokron expecting a reunion will find no sign of their wolf-headed companion.

How to Access Nokron and Retrieve the Treasure

Entering Nokron does not require Blaidd's physical presence or assistance during your underground journey. Defeating Starscourge Radahn causes a massive meteor to strike eastern Limgrave, blasting open a giant crater south of Mistwood. Descending into this vast crater grants immediate access to the ancient city's upper rooftops.

Your primary objective inside Nokron is to navigate through the Ancestral Woods to locate the Sacred Ground of Night. At the end of this area, you will open a treasure chest containing the Fingerslayer Blade needed for Ranni's quest line. Securing this key item allows you to advance the narrative toward its next major chapter regardless of Blaidd's status.

Continuing Blaidd's Questline to the End

If you wish to interact with Blaidd before progressing further, travel to the Forlorn Hound Evergaol in southern Limgrave. You can choose to free him from his prison, though he will immediately depart to check on Ranni's safety. Even if you leave him locked inside, he eventually escapes on his own to fulfill his sworn duty.

To bring Blaidd's personal story to its ultimate conclusion, you must completely finish Ranni's entire storyline. Once Ranni departs on her path, return to the entrance of Ranni's Rise in the Three Sisters region. Outside the tower, you will encounter a hostile, crazed Blaidd whom you must defeat in combat to acquire his iconic weapon and armor set.
